What do I need to bring with me?
When we confirm a booking, we will issue comprehensive joining instructions to each candidate. These will confirm what PPE, clothing, ID or materials you may need to bring. They will also detail, address and start times, course duration and refreshments offered.
Do I need to revise for a course?
For some experienced worker or reassessment tests, we can provide revision materials. During our training & assessment courses, reference materials and text books are provided where applicable. For CITB Site Safety Plus courses, mandatory text books are provided and are the candidates’ to keep when completed.
Do I need to pay when I book?
For clients without an agreed credit account, we usually require payment at the time of booking or before the course takes place. Once a booking is confirmed, we will issue an invoice with the joining instructions. Clients can pay by card, BACS or cash. Cheques are only accepted if cleared 10 working days prior to delivery.
Can I recieve extra time during my exam?
In certain circumstances (such as situations where an individual has dyslexia, a visual/hearing impairment, motor difficulties etc.) then an individual can be considered for reasonable adjustments to the examination policy. Please speak to the training team for further information.
When will I recieve my joining instructions?
Joining instructions for courses are sent two weeks prior to the course start date, or immediately if the booking is confirmed within this timeframe.
How do I find out about an apprenticeship?
Walker Construction UK Ltd run an industry-accredited apprenticeship scheme in association with the CITB National Construction Colleges. In certain circumstances, we have supported apprenticeships in other areas subject to business need. For CITB apprenticeships in construction operations, all candidates must register an interest with the CITB in the first instance https://www.citb.co.uk/bconstructive/ As part of the application process Walker Construction may offer work experience and taster days, interviews and team-building activities – as these help us choose the right individuals for our business and enable applicants to experience what life is like working in construction.
Does the training centre have parking?
Yes. We have a dedicated training centre car park.
Can you recommend a local hotel?
If you need to book a hotel whilst training, we can assist with your accommodation requirements. Call the centre for details.
Do I recieve a discount for making a group or multiple booking?
Please contact our Training Manager regarding any discounts that may be available for making multiple bookings. Walker Training, can offer significant savings on the cost of training courses.
