Walker Construction UK Ltd offer apprenticeship opportunities in all areas of the business irrespective of age and experience
Whether you are leaving full time education, looking for a change in career or returning to work after a break - Walker Construction may have just the opportunity you have been looking for! Our apprenticeship scheme offers opportunities for those aged between 16-64 and is designed to encourage and promote the construction industry, address the national skills shortage and offer new opportunities and exciting challenges along the way.
In addition to our apprenticeship programme, we also deliver S/NVQs in construction related qualifications and, in some cases, can apply for funding to ease the cost for our clients.
In some cases, Work Experience opportunties are also available and these provide a super insight into the day to day operations of both our company and also the industry. These placements often prove to be invaluable when helping to decide if a career in construction is for you.
Apprenticeships and work experience placements can be offered, subject to availability, across all areas of our business, from strategic planning, estimating and technical support to buying, estimating and all apsects of site operations, supervision and management
As part of our Apprenticeship Programme, we will consistently train and develop our workforce to ensure capability and compliance and offer training, employment and skills opportunities to local communities, particularly in relation to disadvantaged groups
Walker Training is passionate in our determination to encourage more women into construction and we are also building on initiatives at site level aimed at recruiting individuals underrepresented in the industry and/or with socially disadvantaged backgrounds. To this end we aim to work with local schools, in addition to other organisations and charities supporting social inclusion and confidence building and aim to kick-start new careers in the industry
